Terms of Sale (archived)

Archived version, no longer in effect. It is kept for the record and is not an offer. No Founder license or other plan is on sale. Replaced by version 2026-10-24-d3, effective October 24, 2026. Replaced before any sale. Current terms: Terms of Sale and EULA. All versions: archive.

Version 2026-10-24-d2 · Effective October 24, 2026 · Ridgeline Apps LLC (Ohio) · [email protected]

BotForge by Ridgeline Apps™. This one document is the license shown in the installer and on first run, and the terms for buying a license on the website. The same core sections (C1 to C20) apply to both.

Plain-English summary (not a substitute for the full Terms)

  • BotForge is Windows software that you license, not buy. A paid license is for one person on up to 3 devices.
  • You bring your own AI provider API keys and pay those providers directly. Consumer AI chat subscriptions (like ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro) aren't supported. AI output can be wrong; check it.
  • Bots can act on your PC and accounts if you turn that on. You choose what they can do and are responsible for what you approve. Follow the terms of the sites and services your bots use.
  • Paid plans check your license about once a day while online (sending only your license key). The Free plan makes no license requests.
  • Pro is $10 a month and renews automatically until you cancel; cancel online anytime. 14-day refund on your first purchase, no questions asked.
  • If something's wrong: we fix it; if we can't, you choose a refund of what you paid for the affected period. Our liability is capped at what you paid, except for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, and anything the law doesn't let us limit.
  • No arbitration and no class-action waiver. Tell us first and give us 30 days; then small claims or the courts in Scioto County, Ohio.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act or other consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

Part 2: Terms of Sale (website purchases)

A12. What you're buying

A license key that unlocks the paid features described on the pricing page for the version available when you buy, plus updates we choose to release while your license is active. BotForge doesn't include any AI service. Try the Free plan first to make sure BotForge works on your PC (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit).

A13. Plans, prices and renewal

  • Pro: $10 per month, charged when you buy and then automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime online in BotForge (Settings → License → Manage subscription) or by emailing [email protected]. After the paid period ends, BotForge returns to the Free plan and your bots and data stay on your PC. See C11.
  • Other plans (such as yearly or Founder) are on sale only when checkout shows them. A Founder license, if offered, is a one-time payment for the paid features for as long as Ridgeline Apps makes BotForge available, including updates we release; it isn't a promise to develop or support BotForge forever and doesn't cover separate future products. If we stop offering BotForge, the last version you downloaded will keep your Founder features. We'll give at least 90 days' notice by email before we shut down license checks, and we'll release a final update that doesn't need one.
  • If checkout isn't open, the site will say so and we won't take money or pre-orders.

A14. Keys and delivery

Your key is shown after payment and can be emailed to the address you used at checkout. Keep it private. A key shared publicly or abused may be turned off (C13).

A15. Refunds (summary; the Refund Policy controls)

14-day refund on your first purchase, no questions asked. Charges made by mistake are refunded (C10). Later renewal periods that have started aren't refunded unless the law requires it or C4 applies. A refunded or charged-back purchase ends that license.

Core terms (shared across Ridgeline Apps products)

C1. Who we are and how these Terms work

BotForge is a product of Ridgeline Apps LLC, an Ohio limited liability company, Wheelersburg, Ohio 45694 ("Ridgeline Apps," "we," "us"). Contact: [email protected].

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Ridgeline Apps. They cover installing and using the BotForge desktop software (the license in Part 1) and buying a BotForge license on the website (Part 2). Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy are part of these Terms. If an app-specific section above (sections A1 and on) conflicts with a core section (C1 and on), the app-specific section controls for that product, except that nothing overrides C6 (what our limits don't cover, including your consumer-protection rights) or C16 (disputes).

When these Terms bind you. If you pay for something, you accept these Terms by ticking the checkbox at checkout, and you accept the license in Part 1 by clicking "I agree" in the installer or on first run (you can't use the Software without it). If you only use free features, these Terms apply to that use; they're linked at the bottom of every page.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy anything. If you use BotForge for a business, you confirm you can bind that business.

C2. Not advice; no reliance

BotForge gives you information and tools. It is not legal, financial, tax, investment, insurance, title, appraisal, procurement, mechanical or other professional advice, and we aren't acting as your lawyer, broker, agent, adviser or fiduciary. You make your own decisions. Before you rely on anything that matters (money, a bid, a purchase, a filing, a sale date), check it with the official source and, where it makes sense, a licensed professional.

C3. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER

APART FROM THE EXPRESS PROMISES IN THESE TERMS AND IN OUR REFUND POLICY, BOTFORGE AND EVERYTHING WE PROVIDE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, RIDGELINE APPS DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT BOTFORGE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA IS COMPLETE OR CURRENT.

If the law doesn't let us disclaim an implied warranty, that warranty is limited to the shortest period the law allows, and your remedy is the one in C4.

C4. IF SOMETHING IS WRONG: CORRECTION OR REFUND (EXCLUSIVE REMEDY)

If a report, file, license or other item we deliver has an error that we caused, or doesn't do what we said it would (a "Defect"), tell us at [email protected]. Please tell us within 30 days of delivery. If you tell us later we'll still review it in good faith, and this request doesn't shorten any time limit the law gives you.

  1. Correction first. We'll correct the Defect at no charge: re-run, fix, re-send or re-issue the item. We aim to do this within 10 business days, or before a deadline you told us about when you ordered (for example a sale or auction date), if we can.
  2. Refund if correction isn't possible, at your choice. If we can't correct the Defect within that time, or a correction would no longer be useful to you, you may choose a full refund of the fees you paid for the affected item (for a subscription, the fees for the affected billing period). You decide whether to wait for a correction or take the refund.
  3. EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. EXCEPT AS STATED IN C6 (WHAT OUR LIMITS DON'T COVER) AND WHERE THE LAW DOESN'T ALLOW IT, CORRECTION OR REFUND UNDER THIS SECTION IS YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR A DEFECT.
  4. Fallback. If a court decides this remedy has failed of its essential purpose or can't be enforced, you may recover your direct damages instead, but the limits in C5 still apply. C5 is a separate and independent limit; it does not depend on this section working.

An error in an official or third-party source that we reproduced accurately isn't a Defect we caused, but if you show us the official record we'll correct our copy (see the data-accuracy section, if your product has one).

C5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, AND EXCEPT AS STATED IN C6:

(a) RIDGELINE APPS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST BIDS, LOST DEALS OR OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, THIRD-PARTY AI OR SERVICE CHARGES, ACTIONS TAKEN BY BOTS YOU CONFIGURED OR APPROVED, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.

(b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT BOTFORGE IS LIMITED TO: (1) FOR A ONE-TIME PURCHASE (SUCH AS A SINGLE REPORT OR LICENSE), THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THAT SPECIFIC PURCHASE; (2) FOR A SUBSCRIPTION, THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THAT SUBSCRIPTION IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (3) IF YOU HAVEN'T PAID US ANYTHING, US $10.

(c) THESE LIMITS APPLY WHATEVER THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE), AND EVEN IF THE REMEDY IN C4 FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

These limits reflect the low price of BotForge; without them we'd have to charge much more.

C6. WHAT OUR LIMITS DON'T COVER (CARVE-OUTS)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (1) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (2) intentional misconduct; (3) gross negligence; (4) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (5) any refund we promised in these Terms or our Refund Policy; or (6) anything else that can't be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Some states don't allow the exclusion of implied warranties, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the exclusions and limits in C3 to C5 may not apply to you. Where that's the case, our liability is limited only to the smallest extent the law allows. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act (Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1345) or other consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

C7. Acceptable use

Don't use BotForge to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, defraud, or discriminate against anyone;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
  • probe, scan, overload or break our security, or get around usage limits, paywalls, rate limits or license checks;
  • scrape, bulk-download, resell, sublicense or republish our output or data, except as these Terms allow;
  • upload or link to malware, phishing or anything designed to deceive;
  • impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • use bots to send spam, commit fraud, access accounts that aren't yours, or automate sites whose terms forbid it;
  • share, resell or crack license keys.

We may remove content, refuse an order, or suspend access when we reasonably believe there's a violation, as described in C13.

C8. Your responsibility for misuse (limited indemnity)

If someone else brings a claim against us because of your own misuse of BotForge, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or someone else's rights, you'll cover our reasonable costs of that claim (including reasonable attorney fees) and any resulting judgment or settlement you approve.

This is limited on purpose:

  • It doesn't apply to ordinary, lawful use as these Terms describe it, or to the extent the claim is caused by our own error, negligence or breach.
  • We'll tell you promptly about the claim, let you take part in (or, if you choose and are able, control) the defense with counsel reasonably acceptable to us, and won't settle in a way that admits fault for you or makes you pay without your consent.
  • It applies only to the extent the law of your home state allows.

C9. Payments, prices and taxes

Prices are in U.S. dollars and are shown before you pay. Sales tax is added where required. Payments are processed by Stripe (or the store you bought from); we don't store your full card number. If a price shown at checkout differs from one elsewhere on the site, the checkout price applies, and you can cancel before paying. We won't charge you for anything you haven't agreed to at checkout.

C10. Refunds

Our Refund Policy is part of these Terms. In summary: 14-day refund on your first purchase, no questions asked; later renewal periods that have started aren't refunded unless the law requires it or C4 applies. In every product, if you were charged by mistake (for example, a duplicate charge, or a renewal right after you tried to cancel), email us within 30 days and we'll fix it. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method; banks can take 5 to 10 business days to show them. We'll also give any refund the law requires.

C11. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND AUTOMATIC RENEWAL

Pro: $10 per month, charged when you buy and then automatically every month until you cancel.

For every subscription we offer:

  1. Before you pay, the checkout page shows, next to the payment button: the plan name, the price, how often you're charged, that it renews automatically until you cancel, how to cancel, and any limits (such as a monthly report allowance).
  2. Your consent. You agree to the automatic renewal by ticking a separate, unticked box. We won't charge you without it.
  3. Confirmation. After you subscribe, we email a confirmation with the plan terms and how to cancel.
  4. Cancel online, anytime, as easily as you signed up: in BotForge (Settings → License → Manage subscription) or on the Stripe billing page linked from your receipt, or by emailing [email protected]. No cancellation fee, and no call or chat required. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  5. Price or material term changes: we'll email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and it applies only from your next renewal after that notice. You can cancel before it applies.
  6. Annual plans (if we offer them): we'll email a reminder 15 to 45 days before each yearly renewal.
  7. Free trials (if we offer them): we'll say at signup when the trial ends and what you'll be charged, and remind you before the first charge.
  8. Records. We keep a record of what you agreed to (the Terms version, the renewal terms shown, and when you ticked the box) for at least as long as a claim could be brought.

C12. Our intellectual property; your license to use BotForge

BotForge's software, design, text, logos and compilation of data belong to Ridgeline Apps or our licensors. "BotForge" and "Ridgeline Apps" are our trademarks. Public records and government data remain public; we don't claim ownership of the underlying public facts.

Subject to these Terms (and payment, for paid features), we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BotForge and what it delivers to you for your own personal or internal business purposes. The license terms for the Software itself are in Part 1 (A1 to A11). Any feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

C13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using BotForge at any time, and cancel a subscription as described in C11.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially break these Terms, if we must to comply with law, or to stop fraud, abuse or a security threat. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we end a paid service without you having broken these Terms (for example, because we discontinue a product), we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid fees.

Sections that by their nature should survive (including C3 to C8, C12, and C14 to C19) survive termination.

C14. Third-party services and links

BotForge may link to or rely on third-party services (for example Stripe, data providers, or sites we link to). Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them, and we aren't responsible for their content, availability or charges, except where we told you we are. This includes AI providers and connectors you connect (A5, A8).

C15. Privacy and electronic communications

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. You agree that we can give you notices, receipts and disclosures electronically (by email or on the site), and that electronic records and checkbox acceptance have the same effect as signed paper (15 U.S.C. 7001; Ohio Revised Code 1306.06).

C16. Disputes: talk to us first, then small claims or court. No arbitration, no class-action waiver.

  1. Informal notice first. Before either of us files a claim (other than a small claims case for an urgent deadline), send a written notice describing the problem and what you want to [email protected] (or, if we're contacting you, we'll use your account email). We'll both try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. This doesn't extend any deadline beyond what the law allows; if a deadline is close, you may file to protect it.
  2. Small claims. Either of us may bring an individual claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction (in Ohio, small claims divisions hear money claims up to $6,000, Ohio Revised Code 1925.02).
  3. Other courts. Otherwise, claims go to the state courts located in Scioto County, Ohio (or the federal court for that district if it has jurisdiction). If you are a consumer who lives outside Ohio and your home state's law gives you the right to sue in your local courts, nothing here takes that right away.
  4. No arbitration and no class-action waiver. These Terms don't require arbitration, and they don't waive your right to join a class action or to a jury trial where the law gives you one.

C17. Governing law

Ohio law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where your home state's consumer protection law applies and can't be waived.

C18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms going forward. Each version has a date and version number at the top, and past versions are kept at https://botforge.ridgelineapps.us/terms/archive.

  • No retroactive changes. A change doesn't apply to a dispute that arose, or to a purchase completed, before the change took effect.
  • Paid users: for a material change, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. For subscriptions it applies from your next renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then. For one-time purchases, the version you accepted at checkout keeps applying to that purchase.
  • New purchases use the version shown at checkout, which you accept with the checkbox.
  • Changes required by law, or that only help you (for example a lower price or a new right), can take effect sooner.

C19. General

  • Severability. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest stays in effect.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy and anything you agree to at checkout are the whole agreement between us about BotForge, and replace earlier statements about the same subject. Marketing copy doesn't change these Terms, but it doesn't erase any promise the law treats as part of the deal either.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You can't transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to a successor to the business, and we'll tell paid users if we do.
  • Events beyond our control. We aren't responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control (such as outages at a county office, data provider, host or payment processor), but any refund we promised still applies.
  • Headings and the summary box are for convenience. If the summary and the full text differ, the full text controls, except that we'll apply whichever reading is more favorable to you if a term is genuinely ambiguous.
